A history of innovation
Archangel Imaging was founded in 2016 in Harwell Space Campus (pictured left), Oxfordshire, to create innovative intelligent payloads for long endurance unmanned systems. We’d grown from a background in World record drone flights and figured that, if we couldn’t get all the data back, we’d better start pushing the intelligence forwards. We’ve been working on ‘Edge AI’. That is to say AI deployed to the edge of the network, ever since. It was not long before we took on other Edge AI projects, recognising the persistent challenges for remote asset monitoring and protection. Having established ourselves at Harwell Campus, we began working on practical deployment and management of AI to off-grid locations for our customers, alongside best-in-class technology partners.
Along our journey we have partnered with several technology companies and systems integrators, on and beyond the Harwell campus. We are strong believers in collaboration and exponential value creation for our customers and our partners through more integrated, innovative solutions.
A vision of transformation
At Archangel Imaging we believe the teams of the future will be hybrid teams, with humans working alongside machines, to solve some stubbornly persistent, global problems. Our vision is to help companies manage and protect their remote assets in challenging areas in a whole new way. Whether those remote assets are the several million £s of metal cables being stolen, or ivory taken by rhino poachers, we want to give security teams early warning in advance of incidents and better tools for remote follow up actions. We do this by integrating off-grid, AI cameras and other sensors to detect anomalies in real time, with nearby drone, robotic or human staff to respond.
